The Cheapside Hoard: London's Lost Jewels
This exhibition sees the finds of a 1912 excavation of a cellar in City's Cheapside. Buried were 16th and 17th century jewels and gemstones, with no explanation as to why they were there, or by whom they were left. Creatively, this is a great insight into Elizabethan and Jacobean craftsmanship.

Beyond El Dorado
I confess to being a tad obsessed with black and gold (and yes I do have the song in my head), so this exhibition is particularly enticing. However the legend is much more interesting, El Dorado, or modern day Bogotá, was a ritual area that saw newly elected leaders dive into the lake covered in gold, leading to a recent excavation and a gold hoard to fill the British Museum.
