Nostalgia - 02/02/2012
Nostalgia, an exhibition of specially selected works by emerging artists to trigger a reversal of the cogs of time and propel you back in time to significant moments from your past.
Agnetha Sjögren
A big hit at Curious Duke Gallery right now, Agnetha Sjögren limited edition prints of her beloved canine friends are on display for the first time in the UK!
Chantelle Hutchings
During the private view show many were intrigued by Chantelle's work that captures the blur between reality and imagination, and presented as a narrative. Her animation stills achieves an unease of play between what is sinister and what is playful, communicating a psychological anxiety and possessing a strong sensibility.
Ben Jensen
Through the abandonment of time and the more psychological approach to setting Ben embraces communicational breakdown where absurd characters and random objects can inhabit the same space as their painterly counterparts, fading in and out of the canvass like memories.
Patrick Collier
Patricks work proved to be a blast from the past, visually gripping as well as intellectually stimulating in descussion, tackling the tough issues of war and politics.
Clare Shields
Clare's patterns and constant visual references to nature proved inspirational and evoked a state of nostalgic romanticism.
Harry Bloom
Harry Bloom limited edition prints celebrating the recent 50th anniversary of the great Battle of Britain.
A big thank you to all of those who attended the private view on the 2nd February, it was a pleasure to see you there and meet you all!
