Calling all artists! The Secret Art Prize application explained

 

 

• £500 cash prize made payable to the winner 
• 1 year Be Smart About Art membership and 4x one hour mentoring sessions with BSAA founder and art world expert Susan Mumford
• Representation and one month group show with Curious Duke gallery
• 8ftx8ft board at WXSP Rise of the non-conformists exhibition, 19th/20th July, with exhibition running until September
• Art supplies courtesy of sponsor Cowling and Wilcox who will also be supplying the materials for the 8ft commission from the WXSP.

Then you need to take a look at Curious Duke Gallery's inaugural Secret Art Prize here with a panel of judges made up of radio presenter BBC 6 Music's Mary- Anne Hobbs,  Be Smart About Art founder Susan Mumford, art critic and Londonist columnist Tabish Khan, Whitecross Street Party organiser and Street Artist Teddy Baden, I Know What I Like founder Sabina Andron, and Visual Marketing Assistant for Barbican Centre Daniela Feta. You will then be taken through to this page:

Here you will given the terms and conditions of the art prize and an option to continue to Log In, you will need the email we have sent you after registering to do this.

 

 

The next page will look like this:

You will be asked to submit;

• Your name,
• Website
• Email address
• And postal address. 

Next up are a few questions about your practice. You will be asked to tick a category from painting, mixed media, print and a drawing.

Next up:

• Name of the art work you are submitting
• Medium
• Dimensions
• Price
• If the work is limited edition or original
• A brief statement on your art practice and influences
• What inspires you to create
• Your ultimate creative ambition
• And, to read and agree to the terms and conditions of the Secret Art Prize.

Your next page will be to ask you to press the 'add to cart' button to pay the ï¿¡10 registration fee to complete your application.

 

Next your work will be presented to our panel of judges, with the winners to be announced on June 14th 2014.
