Tannaz Oroumchi: Hectified

Oxford Street Point Stretch Reverse by Tannaz Oroumchi
Architect and Artist, Tannaz Oroumchi's first UK solo show Hectified opens this evening at Curious Duke Gallery, 6-9pm. Oroumchi's refusal to accept London as a solid and unchangeable city has led to a re-imagining of areas such as the City district, St. Paul's and Oxford Street. Instead of prescribed lines of movement, why can't we have insets in walls and a more even distribution of people to prevent areas becoming purely work grounds, but areas of play and community.
In light of this, Tannaz Oroumchi has given us a list of questions to probe our imaginations and ask what is that we want from the city?
Why do work?
What is work?
Why does the city look the way that it does?
What are we engaging with?
What is the city?
Art/Architecture?
What does the city need to do?
What is the problem/s with the city?
Why draw?
Why show?
Why a gallery?
Does the city need to make you think?
What can the city make you think?
How can the city make you think?
Come as ask the questions for yourself.
