The sinister and the surreal: Buy Art

Posted on October 31, 2014

Happy Halloween to one and all! Time to dress up and take glee from all things gory, sinister and gloomy. Well maybe your home needs a touch of the other side. Or maybe a little outfit inspiration.

The Witch and the Rainbow Cat

By Vicky Scott

Digital print

21x21cm

£25

Trick or treat? The swirling colours cast a spell and suddenly you are in a furry world of a cat and a cottage. Look a little bit closer and you'll see the witch on the broom heading out for the night. Surely this is halloween?!

Standing Dreamer

By Otto D'Ambra

Limited edition dry point etching in paper.

30x45cm

£185

Singling D'Ambra's work down to one piece to show you was not easy. The reason being that this king of etchings revels in the sinister and the surreal. Standing Dreamer is perched on an anvil footed bird, topped with crescent moon to illuminate your walls.

Tessa

By Mr Four Fingers

Pencil, ink and acrylic on paper.

40x50cm

£308

Now this duo know a thing or two about halloween, to be precise their Skull Appreciation Society knows a thing or two. Their world of skulls is indeed descending for this holiday with Celebrabis Vitae Skull exhibition. My personal favourite of theirs is Tessa, a beautiful mix of dripping pink ink embedded in an emerging skull. And the name Tessa? Not not a horror story, but tessellating.

The Guardian

By Novemto Komo

Limited edition digital print

52x52cm

£93.50

You may have already had your fill of witches and bats this morning, so here is an entirely differentt fancy dress option- wear an animals head and decorate your abode with one of Novemto Komo's street art hybrids. Job done.
