#CodeFC Private View 07/06/2012

Posted on June 13, 2012

On the 7th June 2012 Curious Duke Gallery hosted the private view to up and coming graffiti artist #CODEFC. Code originally from Rome came to Britain to study his BA at Chelsea Collage of Art and has been based in Britain since developing his unique style. Code states that he has been recently bombard by media images of the Olympics and has taken real interest in the history behind the previous Olympian events. This inspired his current project - 20:12 - now available to see at the Curious Duke Gallery, 207 Whitecross Street.

The Olympic inspired theme attracted a brilliant and respected crowed to the Curious Duke Gallery including Baroness (Tanni) Grey-Thompson winner of 11 Paralympic gold medals one of the world's greatest Paralympians in the world. Code FC and artist Jack Haselhurst will be creating Baroness Grey-Thompson's mural for the Paralympics: 'The Plight of the Disabled in Britain' withwww.londonartwall.com in July.

Baron Michael Bates was also spotted at the event. Baron Michael Bates has recently been campaigning for the Olympic Truce for the London 2012 Games and the Paraolympic Games. It supports these notions:

Use sport to establish contacts between communities in conflict
Offer humanitarian support in countries at war
Create a window of opportunities for dialogue and reconciliation

In April 2011 Lord Michael Bates walked from Olympia in Greece to Westminster, London to support these notions and raise awareness. Lord Michael Bates will also be working with CODEFC and Jack Haslehurst to create a 'Walk of Truce' Mural with the London Art Wall Group.
