Five reasons to commission art
When looking to buy art, do you know you can commission your own affordable piece? Not many people consider the option of commissioning an artist to create a unique artwork just for them. So here are five reasons to commission your own slice of creative perfection. Spoiler! They aren’t as extravagant as you think.
Enlist help
Save yourself some time, and let the experts help. If you have been endlessly searching gallery spaces, exhibitions and artist studios for the perfect artwork and it hasn’t shone through the portfolios for you there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Rather than believe you are too fussy, you may just not have found your perfect piece, write down what you do like such as no white space, or plenty of white showing, and approach a gallery to help you find the artist who can make you very own artwork.
The piece you loved sold
No sweat, the artist can create an artwork in the likeness of your beloved piece, however, this one will be especially for you, so add in a bit of your favourite colour, maybe even change the subject. Ask away and you will have a bespoke artwork.

No need for an interior designer
Be it a new home or redecorating you will have particular ideas about what you are looking for, and you don’t need an interior designer to help you. Curious Duke Gallery will assist you in choosing the right artist for the style you are looking for, allowing you to commission your chosen artist to create according to a size, colour and subject that will fit your home.
You want to say it with art
Working in a gallery, I have often found that people who are searching for an artwork are looking to give it to someone special, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Be it for their new home, a milestone birthday or to let them know how you feel, you have two options in how to approach this. Firstly, if you wish to keep it a surprise you will have to ask a few sneaky questions and not all at once, with a budget in mind note which styles they like. Secondly, you let them know of your intentions but they are allowed to only give you pointers, and you get to watch as the excitement builds for the unveiling.
It will be your very own artwork
Have I mentioned that your beautiful artwork will be yours and yours alone?
