Why buy art for Christmas?
Good question. With so many gift ideas flooding the market we are faced with the impending doom of what is the right gift for that person in your life?
Do we buy them something novelty that will only be remembered for a short period of time, something they can use (well I know I’ve got around 30 miniature perfumes which I will never use lying around the house), or something they can keep forever and appreciate every day? I believe my views would fall to the latter. Art is not only something that one can keep forever; it is a unique and original gift idea, which are so few and far between nowadays. I was only ever bought a piece of art once by someone and it is hanging proudly on my wall and is probably one of the first things I look at when I wake up in the morning and one of the last things I see at night and I LOVE IT! It will come to every house/flat I move into and may one day even be passed down to the curious kids. I am also pretty sure that the piece cost £40 only (limited edition) …see it doesn’t have to be expensive at all. Correct me if I am wrong but probably 50% of perfumes are priced the same if not more!
So be original this Christmas, don’t just buy for the sake of it and relish in the confused look on someone’s face whilst they are unwrapping their gift this Christmas!
