Twisted Loot: meet Gingham Doll

Posted on December 19, 2015

I may be a little biased (I love her designs!), but the happiness and love that oozes out of Gingham Doll’s fashion is infectious.

You can dress yourself in Gingham doll with Twisted Loot until 24th.

Name: Gingham Doll
Discipline: Fashion Designer
Where did you study? KIAD Rochester (The Kent Institute of Art and Design)

Tell us a little bit about your practice?
Graduating from KIAD in 2000 and from The London Centre for Fashion Studies in 2002, I have always been involved in fashion. I started off working with individual clients for bespoke pieces and special events. I enjoyed working closely with all types of women, which is why I started
Gingham Doll. I wanted to create an affordable brand that still celebrates the craft of, custom tailoring
and hand finished pieces.

"It is my desire to dress ladies of all shapes and sizes, with all types of insecurities. To teach women how to accentuate what they have. I believe my clothes make people feel: CONFIDENT, SEXY AND ALL WOMAN. "

As everything is handmade by myself I offer a customisation service on my soon to come Website. It's all about choice. Ever come across that sleeveless dress that you love but feel like you can’t wear it, as you hate your arms? Well that’s where Gingham Doll comes into it. Just let us know before you purchase and we can make your order with your customised tweaks.

What advice would you give to anyone starting out?
Think outside the box.
Unless you have connections in PR you need to find smart ways to create an online presence as everything is promoted online today.  Fashion is not all glitz and glamour; it’s a lot of hard work and dedication. With today’s social media, online presence is definitely King.
