Buy Art for Easter
I have to break to you that there is no such thing as the Easter bunny, so you better sort out your own Easter gifts out. Art is better than chocolate eggs anyway.
Whether or not you took the last 40 days to give up cake and beer, we all look forward to Easter as the breaking of winter and city wide Big Egg Hunts. With a dose of spring cleaning and a brighter days it's only right that you celebrate with art.
So for all of you who refuse to believe me (seriously when have you ever seen the Easter bunny?), I bring you some rabbits of a different kind. I have Rabbitland and Curious Mr. Rabbit, and I'll add in Through Rose Tinted Glasses for extra summer goodness, all by Vicky Scott. Colourful and bashful, Scott creates superbly wistful tales of absurd adventure to inspire the first sunny days for day trips and sunglasses. I hope I have eased your Easter woes, but you really need to give up on mythical animals. Limted edition of 25, prices start at £50.
Primarily translating text into image, Katherine Tromans breaks from the bitter cold to unleash toppling blooms and babbling brooks in her Paradise series. With hazy shade descending from James' Paradise, it promises long hot summer days and beer gardens galore. Pencil and iridescent layers of acrylic, priced at £450.
Does all this talk of summer sunshine make you want to get active? Sam Shendi's Pommel Horse is your perfect role model. Steel cubes combined with blocks of primary colours act as a visual afront to coach you into action. Earnestly practising, this gymnast could be lodging with you for £2000.
But if you imagined your summer to be slower paced, allow me to introduce you to Emily Hannon. Picnics, long walks and hill top sunsets meld into abstract landscapes of breezey colours. Pink Irises sets glowing oranges into slicks of green countryside, and dancing etched flowers of Through the Lychgate serve up a cocktail of summer sundays. Both priced at £245.
All this talk of summer and not a day of sun yet! I think it's time for the sun dance, who is with me?
