The Art of Berlin

Posted on April 4, 2013

From Paris to Berlin every disco that I go in...” this is the only song I can hear when anyone mentions Berlin. So to now get that out of your head you're going to have to go on the Curious Duke Berlin trip. You might not even have to move from where you now sit. Calmly follow the instructions below and you will have yet another stamp on your weathered passport.

The sound track for this stay-cation
Quite simple- anything by The Beatles sang in German of which there is plenty, mixed in with some Jennifer Rostock and and yodelling, or should I say jodeln.

Get the room German looking.
Think spacious and then take delivery of work from our very own KEF! These bright coloured beauts will usher in your Berlin holiday and provide the perfect memento. If you were hovering more over the expressions of Gerhard Richter, allow me to introduce Kristin Gaudio Endsley. Kristin works diluted acrylic into layers of delicious patches for voluminous landscapes. For the Anselm Kiefer touch, Sam Peacock works house hold paint and kitchen goods onto sheets of steel in a calm repeition in favour of industrial materials in homage to vast empty horizons. There is room for aspects of Berlin in your home.

Now for your menu
Primarily beer hall inspired, i'd suggest you opt for Beer. Yep this is a simple menu. Bar snacks may include variants of sausage- perhaps curried, pretzels and sauerkraut. Finally more beer.

Now to keep you entertained
You may be quite drunk so entertainment does not have to stretch far. Yodelling, learning Beatles lyrics in German, or creating a Techno sound track are all possibilities.

Key phrases to get by with should be anything other than Ich liebe dich (I love you), and hopefully a full sentence.

Viel Glück!- Sinéad
