From Paris with Love
It's been a long winter, and it's time to break out. To reignite your passion for life, we suggest a holiday, and not just any holiday, a Curious Duke holiday to the very close region of Paris-at-home. The rules are quite simple, you pick a country or city, you take its essence and rub it all over your home. So here are a few pointers for Paris in your abode.
Play list
Firstly get the music on. I'm thinking Phoenix, Soko, bit of Edith Piaf and The Doors, don't turn your nose up at Carla Bruni either. For the lazy ones among you, there is the eclectic mix on French Radio London.
Next step
Get that room looking French! Invite Sam Shendi's sculpture Mime over, find a lovely place for her to stand and get a one sided conversation going, sadly she wont be much company but she sure looks good. To really get a Parisienne room you'll have to add Vicky Scott's Journey From A-B. Saving yourself from the rumble of the Metro under your floorboards you can look fondly upon the winding steps and chuckle at the ease you find yourself in. No marathon walks for you!
You're going to need food
Your menu for your holiday will be the finest coffee you can find, a bit of cheese and crème brulee. I don't want you getting too chubby.
Locking yourself in a room for a week could be boring, so stave off the enemy with cooking a fine banquette, learning your verb tables and watching an array of films- in fact make it a film festival.
Phrases: Well I suggest unleashing your ill remembered GCSE text.
Role Models: For the men it has to be Gerard Depardieu (please excuse his recent fleeing to Russia), and Simone De Beavoir for the women.
