Grand Designs Live 2013
CDG heading to Grand Designs Live 2013!
CDG is setting up camp from 4th -12th May at ExCel London at stand E45. Amongst the showcases of innovative new builds and glamourous kitchens, you'll find garden and interior ideas aplenty! Running along the central arcade, you'll find Curious Duke Gallery collection of wonderfully imaginative and surreal art works from original oil painitngs of circus performers, to life size glittered dog sculptures. We'll be exhibiting the affordable art work you've been dreaming of to compliment your home.
To take you on a sneak peek tour of stand E45, I've arranged a quick viewing for you...
In dire need of a smack of colour and personality in your monotomous life? Darren MacPherson has the life injection you need.
Temptingly looking down at you, Amor lingers on. Hiding behind flirtation and a delicious mix of dripped paint and layers of coloured emotion, the sultry figure moves into your consciousness. Measuring 22x49cm, and priced at £650.00
Agnetha Sjögren is the guru you've been looking for. Not such a canine friend lover herself, this London- based Swedish artist creates 'nice' dogs- the well behaved, independent breed that don't require feeding or walking.
With New York dissected into a series of oil painted postcards on board, and London's Southbank illuminated in a sunset glow Andrea Tyrimos turns her travel into art. With Three Kings Tyrimos turns her attention to the East Ends Brick Lane, capturing perfectly the fluorescent lights and gritty shadows.
Sam Peacock takes inspiration from his travels through Australia and urban sprawls of the UK, to explore blurred horizons lost in time. Peacock briskly rolls paint over wood, concrete and steel, often incorporating pigmentation from drinking chocolate and coffee, that is later burnt under a blow torch and varnished.
Tannaz Oroumchi takes on London to expose the well worn streets of breaking architectural rules. the cosmopolitan knot of streets are emphasised to reveal social responsibility, created to break " visual idealisms, allowing the possibility for others to be revealed". A reinvented London for re-engagement.
Meet our artists of the month, Mr Four Fingers!
Let Mr Four Fingers into your home, and you'll be in for a treat. Although somewhat sinister, the South African duo know how to disquiet with grace. Inspired by the grit of London, the pair confess to wanting to "infiltrate every home in the world", which is perfectly feasible with beauties such as Cosmic Effuse and They Came From The Sky. The underlying threat of mysticism could easily be believed to be in the blacks of dark inks, and jarring personality.
Always looking out to an unknown horizon, Hannah Adamaszek takes her female figures on a journey of rich colours and a dose of curiosity. With journeys untold to the viewer, the Aztec inspired figures tell a tale of an endless pilgrimage to colours not yet laid on canvas, with minimalist detail intercepted with inky drips.
Combing his fine line skills from his work as a tattoo artist and his exhaustive imagination, our resident etcher Otto D'Ambra pays homage to victorianna and worldly exploration alike. From keys emerging from fish, and anatomical hearts airlifting rhinos you'll be enthralled.
See you stand E45 to answer any questions you may have on the artists, art works, our services, and how to realise your vision for your home!
