Modesty Blaise was a female icon and forerunner for all female superheroes. Agent X9 was the name of this black and white comic strip from the 70s.
Modesty is probably responsible for me practicing Kung Fu and other martial arts. It was unusual to have a character like her in the 1970s. A beautiful woman over 30 with no dependents and stronger than her male partner.
