BA (Hons) Illustration

University of Brighton
Graduation Year:
2004
Vicky graduated from the University of Brighton in 2004 with a BA in Illustration. Since graduation she has produced commissions for Paperchase, been featured in “Illustration and Play”, a book on artists who use collage in their work (including the works of Rob Ryan) and designed an album cover for the band Stereovenus (which features the singer Rumer). Vicky was one of the artists selected for 2010’s London Elephant Parade, and 2012′s Big Egg Hunt. Her designs (one painted onto a model of a baby elephant and a one on giant Easter egg) were on display in central London before being auctioned off for charity. More ...

Vicky's work is a light hearted look at the world through female eyes, often with a warm nostalgic view of the past fused with the present.

''The main inspiration for my artwork comes from the natural world, fashion, the 1920’s and 60’s psychedelic posters.'' She likes mixing these different elements together and making them into something unexpected, eye catching and beautiful, but It’s important to her that the pieces tell a story. She makes pieces as paper and fabric collages (which she scans into Photoshop to create prints). By using bright colours and organic elements, her work always has an uplifting feel and (although it sounds cheesy) she hopes her work brightens up someone’s day.
