Drawing on material from everyday life as points of departure, Emily's art-making has been and continues to be a process of undoing, of being undone, of marking out, making meaning and bringing about something new.
It involves showing up each day to seek out, experiment with and practice the necessary ways and means to work a surface and create inroads into experiences and encounters that both engage and disturb. Predominant subjects include early recollections, family and motherhood.
