Summer holiday fun! Part 2

Posted on August 15, 2013

The school summer holidays may be catching up with you. And you may be running out of ideas for day trips, activities, or even stories to tell. And that is why part two of our summer holidays blog is for you. (Part one here).

I shall start with Kristin Gaudio Endsley's colours and technique: hours of fun await. Splashes of hot pink, layers of oil and paint and pastel drip and run together to create heat hazes and tropical horizons. Sounds quite like our english summer. Sunbath in the art works brightness whilst you have your little ones smother colours on paper (and themselves) á la Holi festival in a tribute to your favourite of Kristin's paper pieces.

Do you need to get out of the house? Take a day trip with Tannaz Oroumchi's London maps to lead you. Loose yourself in re-imagined streets, forgotten alleyways and platforms over the Thames as you see a new face of the city emerge. Truly refreshing for all the family.

Finish the day with a limerick or two from David Merta. Wind down the evening with a few lines from Merta's watercolour paintings with Meg with the wooden leg and A Boy and a Frog

A flawless plan!- Sinéad
