Homage to one of my favourite Oscar Wilde short stories. The tale is about a spoilt Princess, the Infanta and her birthday celebrations, although the area of the tale I really wanted to get across was his detailed descriptions of all the plants and animals and the hot Mediterranean scene. There are peacocks, pomegranates, lizards, lemons and many more, mostly contained within her ornate gown.

Simone’s beautiful artworks capture the moment that fauna and flora comes into bloom, and then into death. The slow melt of the image captures the beauty of each stage whilst retaining life.

Capturing the energy and chaos of a storm, wind with the power of a tornado trusting up into an amber sky, this is an oil painting on an unprimed canvas. It was created using a labour intensive layer on layer process of applying paint which when dry is often sanded back and then re-applied. It took months to produce and get right. The resin coating was done by a professional resin specialist who achieves a perfect glass like finish making the colours glorious and vibrant.
